Stanislav Matsilevich (born in 1987 in Moscow) creates graphics and computer graphics, drawings, cartoons and book illustrations. He explores dark regions of human nature and speaks about the role of the destructive instincts in human relationships. He creates disturbing black-and-white scenes in which the main characters are often animals (especially dogs) with human traits and people who look and act like animals. Monsters, giants, creatures with machine and cyborg traits also appear in his world. It is a mixture of primal and civilized, wild and cultural elements. The artist refers to old art, expressionism and Russian modernism and simultaneously draws upon contemporary pop culture. He is a graduate of K. Faberge 36. College of Art and Craft and the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.
